STYLE YOUR SPACE WITH HOME MAGAZINE AND BAUHAUS.

#WITHLOVEFROMJULES

Jules has long had an eye for good design, great craftsmanship, and attention to detail: a consequence of various vintages spent in Italy honing her winemaking (and shopping) skills. Having things “just so” is important to Jules, so she was very excited to partner with HOME magazine and with Bauhaus: an upmarket furniture and homewares boutique who are “Mastering the Art of Hometime” – a concept we wholeheartedly endorse (and are happy to help with a glass or two of wine)!

If you popped into your local wine store for your favourite drop of JTW earlier this year, you may have spotted our competition to “style your space”. The prize? A personal shopping session and $15,000 to spend on glamorous interior furnishings for one happy customer.

The lucky winners, Emily and her partner Jonny, took their prize last month. They enjoyed a weekend away from the kids in Auckland, and a private styling session with a personal interior designer at Bauhaus.

Emily says: "When I first saw the neck tag, I thought “Wow, how beautiful. How amazing would it be to win new furniture for your home! That is SUCH an amazing prize!” On a whim I entered one Thursday night after putting the kids to sleep after swimming."

"Two weeks later, Jade, one of the promoters, called me on my birthday (of all days!) and told me the news that I had won. I was standing outside the fig shed in my orchard boots as we were mid-harvest. It was so out of the blue and so unexpected that I asked her if she was sure that I had won! She assured me I did. I called my husband and there were definitely tears of joy. Anyone who works with fresh produce over a short harvest window will tell you that emotions run high over that period so this wonderful news could not have come at a better time for me and my family."

Over a relaxed glass of their favourite rosé, Bauhaus Interior Design Consultant Penny discussed the features of their space, aesthetic and what is important about their home. What was the purpose and what exclusive Bauhaus furniture would accommodate a refreshing sense to their home.

"The entire experience was absolutely amazing." says Emily. "We were quite literally blown away by our time in Auckland and with everyone involved in the competition. I had an idea of what we needed for our home which consists of two young children and a black Labrador also. A lovely new sofa to brighten the space, a coffee table and perhaps a lounge chair. When I started looking online at the Bauhaus website, I saw so many incredible pieces! They really have so many gorgeous things. In the end, I went up with an idea of what we needed but was happy and content to see and feel pieces on the day and in the end that is how we decided on what to choose. My husband was happy for me to take the lead on the choosing but actually in the end he suggested the sofa and the sideboard we ended up getting. Penny and the team at Bauhaus made us feel so at home and were so helpful. By the end of the morning, we were so comfortable, I think we could have snuggled up on one of those lovely couches with a delicious bottle of Jules Taylor wine, pondering furniture and watching the world go by.

"A special shoutout to Jordan the photographer also. By the end of the morning he knew as much abut our house as we do! Above all, we just had SO MUCH FUN! It was such a delightful experience and we are so very grateful to everyone involved!"
