When Jules talks about Sauvignon Blanc, clouds part and celestial choirs sing. This is the wine Jules loves.
Jules loves this wine because it is so expressive of the site where it’s grown. Our Sauvignon Blanc has twice won Champion Sauvignon Blanc trophy at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards - possibly a reasonable feat.
Made in quintessentially Marlborough style, this Sauvignon shows bright, lifted aromas of passion fruit, white fleshed nectarines, fruit salad and currant leaf. The palate is loaded with fresh, vibrant tropical fruit and herbaceous flavours. With its well defined backbone of acid this mouthful of goodness rolls out to a long dry finish.

The fruit for this Sauvignon Blanc was grown in the Hawkesbury, Lower Wairau and Awatere Valley sub regions of Marlborough. Each parcel of fruit was chosen for its specific contribution to the aroma, flavour and structure of the resultant blend. In order to encourage the flavours of each individual vineyard parcel to come through in the final blend Jules kept the winemaking deliberately simple. The grapes were harvested, pressed and cold settled over a period of 48 hours. After racking of juice lees, a long, cool fermentation with selected yeast strains took place. Post fermentation, the components were blended, stabilised and bottled with a screwcap closure to retain freshness.
