Jules Taylor Wines has been awarded with another four gold medals this wine-awards season.
Jules Taylor was awarded with two gold medals at the prestigious 2017 Air New Zealand Wine Awards. The Air New Zealand Wine Awards (ANZWA) is the premier wine competition in New Zealand recognising excellence in winemaking and is very highly regarded by trade and consumers in NZ. The competition is owned and organised by New Zealand Winegrowers, our national organisation for our 1,700 grape growers and winemakers.
This year's competition was judged by a team of local and international judges. Only 80 wines were awarded with a gold medal from an astonishing 1, 300 entries. Jules won a gold for her newly released 2017 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and her reserve series single vineyard 2016 Chardonnay, known as OTQ (short for ‘On The Quiet’).
Marlborough, known globally as the capital of Sauvignon Blanc, shows particularly stiff competition with well over 100 producers focusing on the variety. Jules is absolutely thrilled with the result, as only eight other Sauvignon Blanc’s in NZ were awarded with a gold. Jules said in light of the awards, “Being a boutique, small family owned winery, it is exciting and humbling to see this recognition among such great company”.
